Vishal met Mathialagan, head of CBFC, at the Shastri Bhavan today June 30th 2017.   He had spoken to the CBFC head regarding a few changes required for the benefit of the film industry. Firstly he asked for a speedy and easier film certification process by the CBFC. Next, he asked for the censor board to accept films 1 month before the release date proposed instead of 1 week ahead of it’s release to avoid release issues. Thirdly, he felt that the GST process has made Tamil industry a risky environment and feels that it will lead to big losses for makers. He mentioned that they had talked about this to the Central government several times and requested them continually for a change to be made and hopes for an amendment very soon for the welfare of everybody. He also mentioned about a letter signed by Kamal Haasan that had been sent to the Finance minister, Arun Jaitley.

Central Govt GST will be implemented from tomorrow, the 1st of July and it is sure to have its effects in various sectors. Allu Arjun’s recent release was Duvvada Jagannadham DJ also starring Pooja Hegde and directed by Harish Shankar. Latest reports suggest that, this film has gone onto to amass 100 crores within it’s first week of release. It is to be noted that Allu Arjun’s Race Gurram and Sarrainodu were also 100 crore grossers. DJ now becomes the third highest worldwide grosser for the stylish actor Allu Arjun. DJ has music by Devi Sri Prasad and has been produced under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. A 100 crore grosser in Bollywood is quite common but in South Indian cinema, apart from Baahubali, 100 crores is still considered a benchmark for big films. Some big stars who have been able to make this feat happen are Rajinikanth, Vijay, Suriya, Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan and Allu Arjun. With 3 films touching the 100 crore mark, Allu Arjun has been growing leaps and bounds with his Telugu market.

K.S.Ravikumar Next set to wield the megaphone after Mudinja Ivana Pudi. He will be directing his next film with Telugu superstar Balayya, also known as, Nandamuri Balakrishna . This will be the legendary actor's 102nd film, which is to have Nayanthara as the female lead.   The latest reports now confirm that the shoot of this film is expected to start from the second week of August in Kumbakonam.
