The latest reports, Tamilnadu Theatre Association has officially declared that they would be going on an indefinite shutdown from Monday to protest against the municipal tax imposed by the state government.



Abirami Ramanathan, the President of Tamil Nadu Theatre Association confirmed this news a few minutes back.


Film producer and distributor Dhananjayan took to his Twitter space to share his thoughts regarding this issue, “TNtheatres have announced indefinite shut down of theatres from Monday as Govt.of TN has not come out with a clear support 2 film industry.

We delivered a good film in #IvanThanthiran but sadly Govt.of TN's lack of clarification on both GST&Local Tax is killing our film's success”
