HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SURIYA
When you want to stir some excitement in a group, especially a women’s one at that, all you need to say is SURIYA.
And voila! You can feel the life and exuberant energy. This is certainly not an exaggeration because such is the adulation he enjoys among the stronger sex.
Of course, it is definitely not to say that he has no followers on the other side of the line. It is just that, out here, it has a little more depth and has a few gender based reasons too.
In a recent chat show in TV, when wife Jyothika was asked about Suriya, she said, “I am very very lucky. Love is being selfless and Suriya is not even 5% selfish. He has always kept me happy and safe. I have never made a single cup of coffee and he has never asked me to. There is a lot of respect in our relationship. I have my mom and dad put together in Suriya. Whether it is happiness or sorrow, I first share it with him. Very few men are like this. I would be very happy if my son gets at least half of Suriya’s qualities”.
This coming from a wife is a huge thing for a husband and perhaps one of the many reasons that women like Suriya. To our audience, in addition to the reel persona, the real persona matters a lot and Suriya checks in these boxes with a bold tick.
When his first film Nerukku Ner released, he was just another star kid who has made his debut in films. Of course, he followed it up with quite a few misses only to surface stronger in Bala’s Nandha which made the naysayers see some potential in this actor. His career trajectory had witnessed films that traversed a wide range in the acting spectrum; like the ruthless and fearless cop Anbu Chelvan in Kaakha Kaakha, carefree con man Shakthi of Pithamagan, hunchback Chinna in Perazhagan, the suave businessman Sanjay Ramaswami in Ghajini, the loud and honest Duraisingam of the Singam franchise, the cunning Aathreya of 24, the composed Bodhi Dharma in 7 Aum Arivu or the conjoined twins in Maattrraan- the commitment and dedication of this artist to his characters are all the same which becomes evident in the way these personalities came alive on screen.
For a man who belongs to the industry, he did not think it sufficient to just be in front of the camera. He took his responsibility for quality content to the next level a by turning in as a producer through his 2 D Entertainment. 36 Vayadhinile, Pasanga 2 and 24 are testimonies to this. The upcoming Magalir Mattum and Thaana Serndha Koottam also would sure fall into this category.
The very name Suriya in the cast list fetches with it a definite interest level in the project for here is an artist who is careful and responsible in choosing his stories. Therefore, it does not come as a surprise that this Perazhagan is highly popular.
Today happens to be a very special day for this earnest learner and performer as he celebrates his birthday. Here is wishing the handsome actor a very happy birthday and many more fruitful years ahead. May he continue to bring in a lot of cheer and positivity through his work! God Bless!
